Enability Foundation

INTRODUCTION

Enability Occupational Therapy is a rehabilitation clinic that provides trusted quality care in an environment that promotes health and wellness as we treat physical and mental health conditions such as stroke, birth defects, adult rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, injury and risk management, behavior modification (i.e., anger, anxiety, etc.), improving cognitive skills (i.e., memory, recognition, and attention span), and better socialization skills.

The Enability Foundation is a non-profit organization raising awareness about people with disabilities. The Foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of Enability Occupational Therapy. We have a vision to help people live independently, irrespective of limitation, disability, or deformity.

The Enability Foundation aims to sponsor and offer children and adults of all ages with disabilities and disorders with the necessary support, intervention, and treatment. We also aims to help individuals have better quality of life at home and in the community at large. The Enability Foundation envisions an Africa where individuals with disabilities and their families are educated and supported by local and global communities.

Goal

  • To contribute to reducing the plight of children and adults with disabilities.
  • To Increase awareness about children and adults with challenges.
  • To enable children and adults with disabilities to be self-sufficient and integrated into the society rather than spend their lives in an institutional setting.
  • To educate families and communities about the needs of children and adults with special needs and disabilities.
  • To provide children and adults with  with the necessary life and social skills.

Vision

  • To contribute to the improvement of living conditions of people, especially those who are vulnerable and economically disadvantaged.
  • To improve the lives of people with special needs, help provide therapy such as; Occupational Therapy, Physio Therapy, Speech and language therapy, and other therapies.
  • Our aim is for our services to be equally accessible and convenient for as many individuals as possible, irrespective of class, age, financial constraints, or previous diagnosis.
  • We are conscious of the fact that each patient has needs that are specific to them, so it is unlikely that two patients will undergo the exact same journey. This is our rationale for developing a personalized experience for each patient that you will cherish long after recovery.
  • Though we are a non-profit organization, we pride ourselves on our ability to maintain the same standard of premium-quality service for all our patients. Our staff members are highly trained, experienced, and competent to provide quality service.
  • To make our goal a reality, we are open to collaborating with anyone who shares this same passion or wishes to make people’s lives better. We welcome collaboration in the form of both sponsors, volunteers and gifts.

Partnership Opportunity

Looking for a way to get involved and support Enability foundation? we have several ways you can help support our foundation and partner with us

  • We receive donations of durable medical equipment, and match equipment to individuals that need it most.
  • We receive donations to help provide therapy services to individuals who need treatment but cannot afford it.
  • We partner with others that can provide services to less privileged individuals who don’t have the means to access such services.
  • We partner with Angel donors who want to pay for individuals needing therapy services or equipment.
  • We partner with professionals (physiotherapist, OTs’, psychologists, speech therapists, etc) who will like to volunteer their services for free at our clinic.
  • We partner with other foundations that have similar missions.

Donation

Enability Foundation aims to provide durable medical equipment for free to residents in our axis. This includes a selection of wheelchairs (manual and electric), walkers, canes, crutches, shower equipment, and other items that are available to be loaned out on a temporary basis. Both short and long-term loans are available.

Borrowing a device is free of charge, and anyone is eligible to participate—individuals, families, schools, and businesses. When we don’t have a device/equipment available, we try to refer you to someone who may have the item. People borrow devices through us for many reasons e.g., to try a device before it’s purchased. Whatever your interest is, you are welcome to stop by at Enability to check out our inventory.

We welcome donations of durable medical equipment, other technology, and items that are in good working condition for redistribution to our patients. If you have an item for donation, please call us to ensure that there is room for storage and/or someone in need of the device.  If you are in need of a specific item, please call or e-mail us.

This is a free program provided by Enability Foundation in partnership with Enability Occupational Therapy and other partners.

The following are some of the impact of Temporary Loan Equipment’s on patients and family:

  • Saves a lot of money for clients and their families
  • It provides a faster road to recovery.

Requests for equipment must be made by filling out our online form through the link provided below. Requests should be submitted by your medical personnel to ensure the correct equipment is in the inventory. You will be contacted within two business days to confirm equipment availability and pickup. Equipment must be returned on or before the return date on our Loan Agreement. Equipment must be returned in clean and functional condition. Please contact us to coordinate your return.

Donate Equipment

Enability Foundation accepts donations of medical equipment in clean and functional condition. Donations can be made during Clinic hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM).

Your support allows Enability Foundation to purchase equipment that’s needed and not in our inventory.
